john_newell Posted July 12, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) What's the meaning of the lot numbers on the M8 batteries? It seems to be four numbers followed by a letter. Is there a date of production embedded in this code?
Advertisement Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Hi john_newell, Take a look here Deciphering M8 Battery Codes?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted July 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 12, 2009 A lot number is usually just an indication of an individual batch of production. By itself it could well be meaningless, but the manufacturer will be able to cross reference the number to a production date.
john_newell Posted July 13, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted July 13, 2009 Many manufacturers use a code that is the date, such as 01208 where the first three digits are the day of the year and the last two digits are the year. Other codes include one or more letters that represent the year instead. I'm wondering if anything like that is signified by the codes on the batteries here.
