I've been prone to serious outbreaks of it at different times over the years, Apple, BMW and Citroen are some of the names that come immediately to mind.

However, what's been exhibited on these pages in recent days with regard to the 'M8 situation' is exceptional, and must be the envy of Corporations everywhere.

My camera gear comes in at a modest pricepoint where inadequacies are maybe more understandable. But I define the M8 as a high end item, and am in awe at the sanguine reactions of existing and prospective owners.

What kind of reaction would you expect? Or suggest?

I've seen tremendous disappointment, outrage, returns, order cancellation - all from people who want this camera to be a success. My dealer has told me that if I want to return the camera now or after awhile, that's OK. I can get my money back.

I've seen Leica users and experts trying to examine the problem, all the while insisting the the only acceptable solution in the end will be something significant done by Leica.

Granted, I have seen some people say that for the photography they do, the camera performs quite well. Is it OK for them to be satisfied with what the camera is doing for them right now?

Should those trying to sort out the issues and those who are enjoying the camera just keep to themselves? Do you think that the Company is taking any undeserved comfort from that? I don't think so.
