So you ordered filters for lenses you don't yet own, presumably expecting them to arrive after a year or so, and they came in two weeks, while Lanski orders... ah nevermind. Life's too short eh. In other news, I actually ordered some filters that aren't on Leica's list from my local dealer. After about 6 weeks they still hadn't come so I went back to make sure everything was ok, and was assured it was. After a few more weeks, I checked again - and this time it turned-out they had forgotten to order the filters, at all! So they ordered them. A day later I get a phone call to say the filters will arrive in approx 6 more weeks! So I return to the store in person and cancel the order. I then go to robertwhite's website and order the filters online (cheaper), and they arrive amazingly the next day! (story not over yet) A few weeks later my cell rings - it's my local dealer, happily informing me that my filters have finally arrived! Now tell me people - is the whole filter thing just a joke? But anyway, for some people it appears that Leica can do no wrong, and that expecting reasonably good service from a premium-price company is equivalent to behaving like a spoilt child. Nevermind, Leica will doubtless survive by producing some more limited-edition whacky color cameras instead. I can not understand anyone buying a product from a company that did not give good service.I have always had good service from my local Leica dealer (David Stevens) in Manchester and Leica UK are always helpfull.Sometimes a wait is required.I have just had to wait 3 months for a 21mm Lux.They can not supply what they don`t have in stock.I suppose I could change to another brand of camera but sorry no one makes a 21 lux.Not bad for a company that makes whacky colour colour cameras (and can sell every one they make). I agree that having to wait can be inconvieniant and I am sure leica would like to offer instant delivery on every product they make but it is unlikely to happen. Brian But Brian - this is a matter of making customers wait months and months for a filter that the company have had two years to stockpile to a reasonable level. During the past two years they will have had ample opportunity to measure demand, and adjust their ordering accordingly. Clearly they can't make lenses in the same way. Goodness me - seriously - do you really equate waiting a few months for an amazing lens like the Summilux 21 and waiting the same amount of time for a filter that is abundantly available elsewhere. Rob I love this sort of debate - it's damn hilarious. Seriously, today it's making me laugh out loud. There's something special about these internet discussions: one person describes waiting months for a filter, then every poster (including me) chimes in with their contribution whether it's relevant or analogous, or not. Rob I wish - that would have been great but alas I am currently on week 10 and waiting - not quite the same turn around and I suspect a lot depends on where you are. The point was also made in a previous post that if you are prepared to buy the filters from a recognised Leica dealer you can get them very quickly so it is not a case of slow manufacturing!
