Where is the tutorial on this blog that instructs on this issue? Do I have to specifically take shot at the lowest resolution setting on the M8? (I know the 10mp shots are too big.) Mostly at 320 and 640 ISO and low shutter speed which shows. A great camera, soon to be even greater. And try getting these kind of shots with a D2X - I've tried, forget it. And that's before we speak of the lenses. Hello everyone, my first Post.....gotta start somewhere. I was tired of lurking for weeks reading about M8 issues and was waiting for a thread that didn't have any topics describing flaws with the new camera. Mine should show up in 2 days. Snagged the last chrome version from B&H 3 days ago placing the order at 3am (jet-lag helps sometimes). I picked this particular post because I was a little perplexed by the comment regarding the D2X. I shoot a lot at night, no flash, handheld, usually between ISO 320 and 640 with a D2X an 85mm f1.4 AF and a (relatively unknown) Auto-Topcor 58mm f1.4 manual focus lens. I got the M8 with a Noctilux and a 28mm Summicron, as they are more practical to use at night, and way lighter than what I use now. So far I had a lot of luck photographing elusive subjects with the D2X, so I should imagine that with the M8 will be like having an invisible cloak . The D2X definitely attracts attention, but when I am in China (most of the year), my presence and being foreign acts as an invisilble cloak for the camera. blakley Posted November 12, 2006 Share #40 Posted November 12, 2006 Since it's got IR sensitivity, I figured what the heck. HIE is expensive anyway.... Both shots taken at ISO 320 in Black and White mode with a 50/1.2 Noctilux at f/5.6 (Aperture-priority auto). I used a B+W #91 deep red filter (series 8 - not looking forward to trying to find a series 8 486 hot mirror filter...). I did not shift focus at all on these shots (there's no IR focus mark on this lens). These are cropped to 8x10 aspect ratio and downsized to 120 dpi (from about 320 in camera) and were shot as JPEGs.
