I have not yet received my M8 and need to see what you guys are taking with your M8’s. Please do not post test pictures showing the problems with the M8, other threads have a lot of those. I have not seen many B&W images made with the M8 which is strange as I would think a lot of you must be keen on mono.

Thanks

At the risk of becoming roadkill, I'll take a tentative step out into oncoming traffic...

Here's a quick snap from last evening as I was just running through a few settings on the camera. I'll know to dial down exposure a notch next time. But, all-in-all, I was pleased with the shot in a crazy low-light scenario. This is with the 75lux at 1.4 or 1.7 at 640ISO.

Hello and thanks for posting.

Kurt, that band picture is right on the money. You did a good job of focusing the lens with the 75lux at 1.4 or 1.7 with only a very narrow depth of field. Shows what the M8 can do in low light and extreme contrast conditions.

J. Borger thanks for posting. I will have a look at B&W issues thread. I like your photograph, good composition. The counter balance between the two figures, one looking at the viewer and one looking away. I wonder what the guy is thinking who is looking away from the camera. He seems somewhat lost. I like pictures that make me think.

Tim, that’s a good grab shoot. Great expressions on the group with the pram. For me what makes the picture is the couple in the background. The guy looks like he is clinging on to her as if his life depended on it.

Steven, what a very poignant photograph. I think the mood of the picture conveys so much emotion. Thanks for posting.

Erg. Two quality B&W photographs. They show great tonal range good sharpness and contrast. The tabletop with the silver candle stick just jumps off the screen has the kind of dmax I used to get toning in Selenium. The shoot in the restaurant with the 28 mm ASPH made me smile. What is the guy trying to do? He seems to be going to lift the table up.

Bradley, nice photograph in low light. I bet you dident have much time to take that. I still am impressed with the quality the M8 produces in these low light conditions. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Regards

Some from today in Kuala Lumpur; with 90mm Macro-Elmar and 35mm Summilux. Mostly at 320 and 640 ISO and low shutter speed which shows.

A great camera, soon to be even greater. And try getting these kind of shots with a D2X - I've tried, forget it. And that's before we speak of the lenses.

Hi drjon

Great set of pictures. The candid photos are what the M cameras do best of all. This is my type of photography. I sold my Canon equipment mainly because of the size and weight. I am so looking forward to getting the M8. I wont to get out and start photographing. The minor issues are not going to stop me enjoying and more importantly using this camera.

KM-25, you are so right. PLEASE KEEP ON POSTING PHOTOS.
