offshore Posted July 8, 2009 Share #21 Posted July 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) As they say, a picture IS worth a thousand words. I'm starting to come to my senses... I think I should be banned from the internet for a week... Gaze deeply into my eyes, you are under my control now and will follow my instructions to the letter. You will sell me your Summilux at a rock bottom price and buy the new VC Noct. Are you still gazing?
Advertisement Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Hi offshore, Take a look here can't believe I'm considering this.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Finnkare Posted July 9, 2009 Share #22 Posted July 9, 2009 if it's a speed thing, get the canon 50/1.2 or the hex 1.2 and the 15mm keep the summilux The Hex is easily 2x more expensive than the Canon, and about 1,5x more expensive than the 1.1 Nokton. So nowadays it's hard to justify buing it. Well, it's prices will probably be coming down in the near future. If it's a speed thing with the 15mm also, you should have bought the 15/2.8 Zeiss. The rest of my post won't be helping on the original problem, on the contrary, so reading it is on your own responsibility : When I was juggling between a 50/1.7 and a 50/1.4 at a local used camera shop, the shopkeeper said: "It's hard to compare the pictures taken at 1.4 to those shaken or never taken at all at 1.7." So, the difference between 1.4 and 0.95 is not purely academic. The Lux will probably give nicer frames when you can hand-hold it steadily, but when not, Nocti will without a doubt win. It's just a question of how common are the low light situations for you. Or if you hate fast film, for example. You wouldn't need to rip your hair off trying to get a decent picture at 3200, when you can be safer at below 1600...
doug_m Posted July 9, 2009 Share #23 Posted July 9, 2009 Do not sell the 50 lux asph !!!
efftee Posted July 9, 2009 Share #24 Posted July 9, 2009 Nothing against Cosina Voigtlander, they do make some great lenses. I had a fling with the new 50 Nokton, albeit only over a lazy Sat afternoon, and I would personally not even think about entertaining any consideration to trade my 50 Lux for it nonono... Guest Lotw Posted July 10, 2009 Share #25 Posted July 10, 2009 what exactly is your argument to skip the lux 50, it is a very cheap lens in comparison to the 0.95 and other 1.4s, and it comes closer: 0.70m vs 1m
