falkk Posted July 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know that the M8 is not so brilliant in higher ISO. So I just try to avoid that. Yesterday I forgot to switch back to 320, and I made a few shots. The result is as I expected. But I'd like to ask a question here: If I take shots with higher ISO, do I need to live with these stripes (lower left corner). Or is it something, which could be fixed? Setting: ISO 1250, 1/11sec f/4 WATE 21mm Falkk
Advertisement Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Hi falkk, Take a look here Iso 1250. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Mauribix Posted July 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 3, 2009 No, you don't have to live with that... what is happening here (IMHO) it's just some banding, actually due to an underexposed shot. When rising up ISOs you get a smaller and smaller margin of exposure reading. Try to set your EV to +1/3 (or + 2/3) as an exercise, you will notice the difference. Otherway, you could try to expose for the shadows, it should work too, and once you get used to it, you can do it manually. Hope this help you a bit. chris_tribble Posted July 3, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 3, 2009 Agree with Maurizio - the attached incidental shot of some of my students at an end of term event was at 1250. So long as its properly exposed, 1250 is IMHO a very useful resources on the M8.
