jvan01 Posted July 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just found a Canon Serenar 85mm f2 in LTM, and as soon as an LTM-M adapter is purchased this lens will be used on an M8. Should this lens be coded as a 75mm or 90mm lens?

amigadave Posted July 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 1, 2009 I just found a Canon Serenar 85mm f2 in LTM, and as soon as an LTM-M adapter is purchased this lens will be used on an M8. Should this lens be coded as a 75mm or 90mm lens? Why code it all? All you will get from the coding is EXIF data, which will be for the wrong focal length anyway. I guess that you'll probably want to get a 90mm LTM-M adaptor, as the 90mm framelines are probably closer to the field of view than the 75mm framelines. doubice Posted July 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 1, 2009 I just found a Canon Serenar 85mm f2 in LTM, and as soon as an LTM-M adapter is purchased this lens will be used on an M8. Should this lens be coded as a 75mm or 90mm lens? I would code it as a 90mm Summicron as the coding is really not necessary, the only benefit will be the EXIF data. You may as well use the lens that is closest in focal lenth. My 73mm Leitz Hektor (from 1938!) is coded as a 75mm Summicron... When getting the adaptor, make sure that you get one that can be coded - info here: Adapters: LTM to M Good luck, Jan
