sean_reid Posted July 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone here had first hand experience using the Leica SF58 with a Nikon off-shoe cord (such as the SC28)? Anyone used the same flash with a Metz off-shoe cord? Interested in comments on either. I don't need TTL but if one of these cords preserves TTL that would be useful for some upcoming testing. Thanks, Sean
Advertisement Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Hi sean_reid, Take a look here SF58 with Nikon Off-Shoe Cord. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest roey Posted July 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 1, 2009 Good question. I just tried it with my Nikon SC-17 cable. It works well and supports TTL just like the smaller SF 24D. Only the secondary flash in the front doesn't seem to fire when I use the cable.
Shootist Posted July 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 1, 2009 I don't have a SF58 but looking at a Nikon SC 28 cable and the hot shot of the M8 all the pins (contacts) are in the same place on both and since it works with the SF 24D I se no reason it shouldn't work with the newer SF58. Swanny Swanny Posted July 30, 2012 Share #5 Posted July 30, 2012 Hi Sean, just wondered how the SC28 worked out ? and also thoughts on using on the M9 too
Shootist Posted July 30, 2012 Share #6 Posted July 30, 2012 The SC28 works just fine. I've been using one for a few years now, every now and then, without any problems. That is on M8 but M9 is the same.
