Rolo Posted June 29, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hasselblad have just launched a 39 mega pixel version of the CFV back. http://www.hasselblad.com/products/d...ks/cfv-39.aspx Obviously not a technical equal to the S2, but surely there are lots of studios who own Hasselblad V cameras and kit, to which this back gives a much extended life. Timing is perfect for a defence of the Hasselblad market against the S2. Interesting stuff.
Advertisement Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Hi Rolo, Take a look here New competitor for S2 from Hasselblad. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
AlanG Posted June 29, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2009 Your link didn't work but I went to the site. This looks very interesting as it works with V (read in-expensive used) Hasselblad gear, does some lens correction via software and can also work on a view camera. (I don't know if there are color shifts when the lens is tilted or shifted.)
Guest guy_mancuso Posted June 29, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2009 Very interesting and a lot of V shooters already out there still and the prices on old Hassy gear is worth a smile to the pocket. Great move on Hassy's part and a lot of folks have been waiting for this.
sdai Posted June 29, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 29, 2009 IMO this tells you exactly how bad the MF gear market is ... my guess is that they still couldn't move as many H systems as they wish after so many rounds of price cuts so now they're digging out the CF stuff from the graveyard. Perhaps the Zeiss lenses' price on eBay will go up ... then I'm gonna sell all the old junkies I keep. Good luck to the MF companies and wannabes.
