uncletc Posted June 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been lurking around and learned so much for you all, my belated thanks to you all. I carry D-Lux 4 most of the time, despite of having Nikon DSLR, and find it a near ideal camera for me. While saving up hopefully to afford a M8/8.2 in the future, I cannot wait to see what the next improved version of D-Lux 4 will be like. I've been impressed by the image quality produced by the Sigma DP1/new DP2. I have no doubt that Leica Summicron on the D-Lux 4 and the design of the D-Lux 4 camera (or Panasonic LX3) as a whole are better. However, I also believe that the Foveon sensor used in Sigma cameras, responsible mostly to some stunning images, is a superior sensor than the one used in Leica and Panasonic cameras. I am not technically inclined to understand why Leica/Panasonic continue to use the similar type of small sensors, but I cannot help but imagining just how much more superior the D-Lux 4 will become if the Foveon sensor were used instead.
