Iansky Posted June 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) An unusual site in the UK these days - I liked the images that could be taken at any era and the power that the site of coal portrays through childhood memories of coal fires and steam engines. Advertisement Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Hi Iansky, Take a look here Black Gold - the old coal merchants yard. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted June 20, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 20, 2009 Lansky, Again, you have portrayed a long gone era in a wonderful manner. These are nice pictures done well with the toning and presentation. Paul
Marquinius Posted June 20, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2009 Lansky, Wonderful remebrance of days gone by. I still see the shute (is that what you call that thing where you throw the coal into the cellar?) at my grandfathers' house. I'm traveling to Sallchy, Scotland in a couple of weeks and will be staying with friends who still have coal heating. It's only when you get back home that you notice that the smell in your luggage is somewhat, well, coalish But can't wait for slow cooking on the AGA
