offshore Posted June 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I click on a thread I'm shown the last post for the thread which sometimes (actually a lot of times recently) has nothing to do with what the original thread post was about. I have to go back to the last page to see what the original author wrote. Is it possible to reverse that and start off with the original post so I can either answer it right away or take the time to read what others have posted regarding the original or is everyone happy with the current structure? Advertisement Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Hi offshore, Take a look here Order Of Posts In A Thread. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted June 19, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2009 When I click on a thread I'm shown the last post for the thread You can click on the title of the thread (which takes you to the first post), on the little icon to the right of the title (which takes you to the last post) or - if present - on the little pointing icon just to the left of the title (which takes you to the first post you haven't read yet). Then, you can set the forum's options to show the first or the last post of a thread as an option. I think that about covers all my needs.
offshore Posted June 20, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted June 20, 2009 You can click on the title of the thread (which takes you to the first post), on the little icon to the right of the title (which takes you to the last post) or - if present - on the little pointing icon just to the left of the title (which takes you to the first post you haven't read yet). Then, you can set the forum's options to show the first or the last post of a thread as an option. I think that about covers all my needs. Sorry but I'm not seeing any icon to the right of the title. If I click on the title it takes me to the last post made and for an example of what I'm referring to go to the post on "Challanges for the new Leica CEO" it has now turned into a discussion about which word processing program is best and I wouldn't have a clue as to the original post. It just seems simpler to me to click on the title and have the original post appear with all the other comments following it.
andybarton Posted June 20, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 20, 2009 In you user control panel (top left of header bar) you have an option somewhere to change the order of listing Sounds like you have yours set to "reverse thread" or similar I would do a screen shot but I am working on an iPhone at the moment. MPerson Posted June 20, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 20, 2009 This is quick and dirty but: Click on User CP at top left of any Forum page. On the left menu go to Settings & Options Choose Edit Options Scroll down to the Thread Display Options and change the box to 'Linear - Oldest First' Hope that helps

pop Posted June 20, 2009 Share #7 Posted June 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) You can click (...) on the little icon to the right of the title (which takes you to the last post) Sorry but I'm not seeing any icon to the right of the title. . Sorry, my fault. I meant the icon in the column to the right of the thread titles which shows the sender and the time of the last post in the thread. Others have explained it much better than me, anyway.
