hef Posted June 12, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm having a heck of a time coding the Skopar 35 Pancake II...... it has four codes in the center of the 6 codes... however, there is a screw in the last position and I just can't seem to get it to work. Has anyone solved this? And how.

JPH1962 Posted June 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 12, 2009 Hi there! I just spend some hours doing the same. Successfull were: lux 50 cron 90 elmarit 90 & 135 nokt 35 1.2... but thencame my 21 2.8 biogon.... there is a screw as well.. but in the end i found out that as the finder frame that is preselected by the lens's cam is the 50/75, there will not be the correct lens identification. Once you hold the frame selector manually to the 28/90 frame everything is perfect. 21 2.8 and 21 2.8 asph are correctly read. what about your 35? what frame does it shon when you mount it? You could try to cover the screw with white paint - that could help. Happy coding¨ JP
ibogost Posted June 13, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 13, 2009 This isn't necessarily helpful, but I didn't code mine, and I use it with an IR filter, and I'm happy with the results.
hef Posted June 13, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted June 13, 2009 Thanks for the replies.... I won't spend too much time on it.... The only benefit is the 35mm in the exif.... not sure if coding it will benefit in processing, but i'm not sure. I suppose i could send it to Milich but what would he do if the screw is directly in the code pattern?

Are you trying to "soft" code the lens with markers? That may be the problem. I sent my Pancake II to DAG who sent the the mount to Milich to have bit pits machined. Don did the painting (black - white - black - white - black - black). It works, though I haven't done a super rigorous white wall test.
