Hello, is there a possibilty to have a direct file transfer from camera to computer. This is easy when i use the camera in the studio. I used to work with nikon capture. I have tried apple aperture demo soft ware but i think that a direct file transfer to the computer is not possible with it. The software that came with the camera is incomptible with the newer mac systems and still no upgrades available.

It's not only easier to use a card reader, it's also much safer. While it is possible to transfer images directly from the camera's card to a computer using the built-in USB port and the cable that is supplied with the camera, that isn't the recommended method. You run the risk of data loss or corruption. It's much safer to use a card reader. And while you're at it, make a backup to a different hard drive and verify that both downloads are ok by, for example, checking all the images in Adobe Bridge using the magnifying glass. Bridge will check the actual RAW files, not just the preview jpegs. Once you're sure that the download is okay, then it's safe to erase the images from the card.

Hello, i am able to download files to the laptop (mac) that is not the problem, but the thing what is practical in studio work is that immediatly after shooting the file is loaded to the computer. With the nikon cature you can even control the setting on the camera from the computer.
