When the filter is on, the cap fits, but not snugly. I'll have to take a picture of this when I get home tonight to show everyone. Maybe I'm not using a regulation cap? I contacted Leica in Germany last week and they told me they are completely out of stock at the moment and probably can expect delivery in mid-August. As you can see, without the filter, the Leica lens cap fits snugly on the lens. An almost airtight seal holds it in place. But once you have the IR filter on (or any filter, I'll bet), the Leica lens cap no longer fits snugly. Notice there's a space between the cap and the start of the filter tread. No more airtight seal! I'd walk across the room and notice that my lens cap fell off halfway. My solution was to buy a screw-on lens cap.
