abrewer Posted November 8, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don't know how many of you were aware of this promo from Leica: Buy a new film Leica M body and receive a gift certificate worth $500 towards Leica merchandise e.g. a lens for the body. Just in time for the holidays! Thanks. Allan Attachment: leicaGiftCertificate.pdf
Advertisement Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Hi abrewer, Take a look here $500 Leica Gift Certificate. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
reddawn Posted November 10, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 10, 2006 alas only in the US we never have offers like that over here. In fact, Leica is only represented by an official distributor
harleyboy Posted November 10, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 10, 2006 Canada and the US actually. It says a Gift Certificate or Check on the brochure so I am assuming that you can get "cash" vs a gift certificate that can only be spent on Leica products. Anyone know for sure? abrewer Posted November 22, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 22, 2006 Okay, Mark's got his "camera for a lifetime" MP3 LHSA and gotten the rebate!!! Anyone else? Thanks. Allan
miami91 Posted November 22, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2006 I just sent the rebate application in to Leica USA on a second M7 body I bought within the past week. There was no place to specify whether the rebate would take the form of cash or coupon, so I'm assuming it will be a coupon. That's okay though, as it will be good for one year, and I will happily invest it in either a new 4/3 lens for the D3, or an M8 (pending resolution of problems). In fact, I'd almost rather have the gift certificate, as it will allow me to rationalize further expenditure to my wife! ("We can't leave $500.00 uncollected, can we sweetheart"?). Jeff. abrewer Posted February 8, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted February 8, 2007 I'm bringing this one back to the top as Leica recently extended the offer for the MP and M7 $500 Gift Certificate. Thanks to Guy for bringing this to us over in the Digital Forum with news of the lens coding program's extension as well. Thanks. Allan The Leica $500 Gift Certificate: Get a fantastic deal on a timeless classic! Here’s great news for Leica fans: Leica has extended its special promotion on the highly esteemed classic analog Leica MP and M7 cameras to June 30, 2007! Purchase a brand new MP or M7 in black or silver finish from an authorized USA or Canadian dealer from now until that date and you will receive a $500 Leica gift certificate valid for one year. Will you opt for the Leica MP, the quintessential mechanical rangefinder camera that leaves all decisions up to the photographer, or the brilliant Leica M7 with electronically controlled shutter and two mechanical speeds that gives you the choice of aperture priority of manual exposure modes? It’s a tough decision—unless you choose both! To receive your Leica $500 Gift Certificate, you must register your camera within 30 days of purchase. For complete details please go to Leica Camera AG. dspeltz Posted February 18, 2007 Share #10 Posted February 18, 2007 It has been a month since I sent in my application for the $500 coupon (MP bought in December). No response yet. Has anyone seen one?
PATB Posted February 18, 2007 Share #11 Posted February 18, 2007 It has been a month since I sent in my application for the $500 coupon (MP bought in December). No response yet. Has anyone seen one? I spoke to "Liz", the lady in charge of processing the certificates in the US, and was told she is a bit behind so I shouldn't expect my certificate "soon" (whatever that means). I sent mine to her directly by fax on February 8 (with mail confirmation). Perhaps you should give her a call. Unfortunately, I don't have her direct number and had to go through the operator and ask for the person in charge of the gift certificates.
lns Posted February 18, 2007 Share #12 Posted February 18, 2007 It has been a month since I sent in my application for the $500 coupon (MP bought in December). No response yet. Has anyone seen one? Yes, I just got one. It's a gift certificate. You buy an item from an authorized dealer, return the gift certificate with the warranty papers, and then receive a check for up to $500. The wording is a bit confusing, and I'm wondering if it only applies to the purchase of a camera or lens. It says, "The selected Leica products bearing a serial number must be purchased from an authorized USA/Canadian dealer," and then it goes on to say, "The selected new Leica camera or lens with a serial number must be registered within 30 days of purchase." I was hoping to use it to buy an accessory, rather than a lens. There's no phone number or email address for questions. Does anyone else have any clarification? -Laura

RITskellar Posted March 5, 2007 Share #14 Posted March 5, 2007 "The selected new Leica camera or lens with a serial number must be registered within 30 days of purchase." I was hoping to use it to buy an accessory, rather than a lens. There's no phone number or email address for questions. Does anyone else have any clarification? -Laura I have spoken with Leica several times regarding my alacarte orders and the rebate coupons. The rebate is good when purchasing ANY SERIALIZED product (anything that has a serial number). This could be lens, camera, Leicavit, binoculars, or any other such thing (not necessarily photographic). I'm not certain of Leica's entire product line, but I'm sure you could look this up as interested. Hope this helps.
xray Posted March 20, 2007 Share #15 Posted March 20, 2007 I won a new LHSA Hammer Tone set with a Leicavit and retro 35 asph summicron in a LHSA drawing. Wonder if that counts? Cost me $40 in tickets.
innerimager Posted March 23, 2007 Share #16 Posted March 23, 2007 I suppose I should post that because of this thread, when I decided to get my first film camera, rather than the M6 TTL I originally ordered, I got an M7, and immediately with it a 50/1.4 asph to apply the $500 toward. Folks should be aware of how easily this aspect went. I talked with Liz at NJ who confirmed that I could get the camera and lens at the same time. Then, by sending the registrtion cards along with the Gift PDF printout, she can simply apply the $500 to the item, and send me the check, saving all the time of sending out a gift certificate. So, this thread was very helpful. It nudged me into going for the M7 which is a much better choice for me as it shoots so much like my M8. best....Peter
