wparsonsgisnet Posted November 7, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Epson 2200 has started making ratcheting noises (a bit like a machine gun) when trying to feed sheet of paper. Anybody had this? Is it fatal, or do I just open it up and tighten something? Any help is appreciated. tnx,

robert_parker Posted November 7, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 7, 2006 Bill All I can offer on this is when my HP or Epson printers make that type of noise, it's usually a problem associated with the paper feed. Maybe having the lid up and checking to make sure there's nothing obstructing the paper path, like a little chunk of paper stuck somewhere, is a good start. Probably second I'd check that the cartridges are in and locked properly and carefully check the carriage is down and isn't being lifted up out of position by something. Third would be to make sure nothing is obstructing the movement of the cartridges from side to side and that they're returning to their parked position after use. I suspect after that, it's a case of call customer services to see what else can be done. Hope this helps
