sean_reid Posted November 7, 2006 Share #61 Posted November 7, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sean, no disrespect intended, but if you charge for your reviews where most others offer them free of charge you should expect to take a little more heat. Just like with the M8, if one pays a lot for it they expect more from it - reasonable or not. Elvis That's not true at all. I wrote the same kind of reviews when I wrote for LL for free as I do now. The fact that RR is a subscription site doesn't mean reviewer bashing suddenly becomes OK. I try to be very honest in all of my reviews, paid or unpaid. eronald Posted November 8, 2006 Share #63 Posted November 8, 2006 Edmund--Was there a quick fix for this, like putting in a different battery? Or did the camera have to go in for repair? Thanks, I pull the battery, put it back in, and the camera restarts. No images lost. I'm going to get a different memory card tomorrow because I suspect a memory card defect or incompatibility (Murphy's law). By the way, the M8 takes some very nice pictures. Here is an extreme crop from today, Photoshopped. 75mm Summilux, the monument is about 2-3 kilometers away (image taken from La Défense). What you see at the top of the monument is people. And please don't ask me what a seagull is doing in the middle of Paris. Edmund Welcome, dear visitor! sean_reid Posted November 8, 2006 Share #64 Posted November 8, 2006 I think that its hard to be both a reviwer and a tester at the same time. The two should be distinct from each other. Which of the reviewers was also a tester (beyond the degree that all reviewers end up doing testing for the reviews)? Sean
