StS Posted June 6, 2009 Author Share #21 Posted June 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Interesting - the photo has well above 500hits. My most successful photo in this forum is showing two fridges, now I know my artistic direction I'm always enticed to buy, when I visit this place (I can also recommend Zanmai Sushi in the same building) but have always to think about all the X-ray scanners ahead. I read somewhere the radiation during the flights would be even more damaging. In November I bought two rolls of BW400, since I had my private 'Asia on B/W film only' challenge. I guess most of us have to resort to mail order for less popular films. However, in my impression, film is still very well in use, hence will still be produced. Sure, this is a huge city but by no means the only camera store over here. Stefan

StS Posted June 7, 2009 Author Share #23 Posted June 7, 2009 I do something different for a living, but have the feeling as a photographer I'm a failed reporter rather than a failed artist Interestingly, I'm getting the strong impression being good at something doesn't seem mean producing roaring successes all the time but producing enough successes to keep the show going. Sometimes a great idea turns out mediocre success, sometimes afterthoughts created to patch up something turn out to be highly successful. People, who are good in my trade will confirm this over a beer. I have the suspicion this is a human thing... Reading the stories of the antique gods, I prefer to stay in our human paths, though. The loss of humanity and compassion is too large a price to pay for the short lived addictive feeling of divineness... Getting philosophical. Maybe our friendly moderators can move this over to the bar, where I can buy another round. Maybe this is better to be read in the evening, whenever your evening is...
