skimmel Posted June 14, 2009 Share #21 Posted June 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The SB-600 is very manually configurable, but... it throws the balance of the M8 way off by making it top heavy. If I have the head tilted forward, it makes my M8 feel like it wants to roll forward in my hands. I wish someone would develop something that inserts into the flash connector with a tiltable plate that my SF 24 can sit on. Then I can adjust it as if it were a tiltable head flash. Thanks. I agree! It tilts the flash forward, but it might not tilt it backward.
USA road racer Posted June 14, 2009 Share #24 Posted June 14, 2009 If you need a supply of CR123 batteries, order direct from Surefire flashlights SureFire Flashlights & Tactical Lights . These lights (torches) are the best units in the WORLD! They have the batteries done special for them & last the longest of any manufacturer I have found. Best prices if you order a box of 12 or 75. Iansky Posted June 16, 2009 Share #25 Posted June 16, 2009 I have the SF24D and use it with my M8 - for a small compact flash it is great - I have used it for daylight fill and it is superb and subtle! As long as you remember to dial in the aperture on the flash that you are using you will not have a problem. You can control the flash output directly on the flash by using the buttons to control flash EV. Apart from not having a tilt head, there are no problems - it does the job and the batteries do last a long time so it is a "Lot better than not having a flash" and is small and light (but not flimsy) so can be easily carried at all times.
