Riley Posted November 6, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 6, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I enquired with Metz as to some specifics about the similarity between the D2/LC-1 hotshoe and the Nikon, this was the reply Dear Rob, a Panasonic has the same electronic inside a s a Leica Digilux2. Therefore, for the connection of a 44 MZ-2, 54 MZ-3 and 70 MZ-5 the adapter SCA3502 dedicated to Leica can be used succefully as well. Long time ago in the range of the first analogue cameras some Leica camera like R4 etc has the same electronic inside as a NIkon FM-2, FE-2 etc . Therefore, the contacts are located at the same place inside a Leica hot shoe verus Nikon. But, the Olympus module is named SCA3202 which can be used in its version M6 (in planning) only on a Panasonic FZ50 as well. best regards xxxx xxxxxxxx (edited out) Technical support
Advertisement Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hi Riley, Take a look here letter from Metz. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
grober Posted November 6, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 6, 2006 Please ask your new Metz friends if that are going to come out with a smaller shoe-mounted flash unit with a semi-articulated head for use on camera like the new M8. Leica's offerings so far miss the mark by a wide margin and all the existing Metz units are physically too large so there is no good but still portable flash solution for the M8. -g
