Aperture ring.

I have a new f2 50 Summicron and a new f2,8 90 Elmarit.

On the Summicron lens the aperture ring is quite loose when adjusting different apertures.

There is no definate click or real feel on the settings.

My Elmarit on the other hand has very distinct and defined clicks.

My question to all is this normal for a 50 Summicron 6 bit brand new?

My new 28 mm F2.8 Elmarit aperture ring felt loose compared to my other Leitz lenses but it does click into the stops. I've since heard they're all like that. My older 50 cron feels just right with slight resistance and definite stop clicks. You might check with the dealer especially if it is not making a definite stop at the aperture settings.

My new 35 Summilux has just a slight bit of play at the ends of the aperture range. At f/1.4 and f/1.6 it clicks into place but the you can turn the ring just slightly past the click-but only at these two apertures-all the ones in between click in solid. My Summarit 35 doesn't do this.

For what it's worth, I called Leica Tech support and they said that it was normal for their lenses to have a slight bit of play at the ends of the aperture range and nothing to be concerned about. I just wonder how many other owners experience this...?
