When the great master photographers exhibited thier work in galleries they were not saying what do you think of this photograph? they were saying this is what I do and they were not too bothered whether it was liked or disliked.

So, what's stopping you putting up your work with the line "This is what I do, I'm not bothered whether you like it or not"? Don't be shy.

That's what I do, when I show my stuff here.

I couldn't care less whether other people like what I do. I hang them on the wall regardless of what people here think. I show clunkers here, as well as stuff that is received positively. That's fine. I don't care. But I am encouraged when they respond positively.

I have learned a great deal from the feedback I have had here, I can't tell you how much. My photographs have got an awful lot better. Maybe yours could too, if you shared them with us...

You obviously couldn't sleep either. Andy, as I have said on this forum ad infinitum, I do not own, or desire to own a scanner but I'll tell you what. You send me your address and I will post you some negatives which you may do what you like with providing I get them back

Woah Kenneth, lets just get Angche here with his new IIIb out there enjoying it, with at least good exposure and focus. Then one can stray outside of the 'normal'.

If you want to cheat, know the rules.

I like to see other photos here and on other fora, they give me inspiration and somewhere to aim for on occasion.

Jose - You may find these useful:

Exposure-Mat

Fred Parker Ultimate Exposure

My youngest son (11) is using these to help him learn.

Thanks Kenmeth. I think these links are going to be very helpful. It's funny to think I am sharing learning tools with an 11 years old kid. That is the age of my youngest son!

I also see that trying to improve my skills by showing my pics may be very difficult. I may get responses mixing technical issues with taste considerations. But i will keep on trying!

Many thanks!

A great many people are coming to photography nowadays from the digital method and don't have a grounding in the basics so I totally agree that these little tip and guides can be very helpful and illuminating. I hope I never get too old to learn something. I hope that this does not sound too patronising as that was never my intention

Yes, you are spot on. And you didn´t sound patronising....:)

I saw the differences in each one of your images. Too me it was clear. Perhaps you need more experience and then you will see it for yourself. Mind you a shutter speed differnce of 100 to 40 is not much. But there is clearly a differnce in the exposure in the first 2 images.

Look have fun and enjoy. You expressed an interest in the Sunny 16 rules. I would learn them and apply them as I have found that they work.
