Thorsten, I guess you are not a mac guy;)

Mac afficionados make hundreds of shots during the unwrapping of Macs, ipods, even socks with the face of Steve J. printed on it:D

BTW: A black M8 and a black 80GB ipod - this is the top of the notch - but too dangerous in Central Park?

Greets Bernd

Hello Bernd,

Of course, nothing is absolutely safe, but I feel all right walking around with the M8, it is a small camera. I don't think the camera is that noticeable for what it is, versus any other point and shoot digital or a big DSLR! Cameras are everywhere today, it is difficult to tell what anybody is shooting!

So far, not a single person had said anything about the camera, except a woman I stood next to at the marathon today, who was attempting to grab some shots with her cell phone camera! I showed her some of my shots and she was amazed I was getting anything. She asked about the camera, and didn't have a clue what a Leica was! She said, oh, the "MB"....not M8...

I once saw a Hasselblad H2D digital on Sixth Ave, and thought, "There goes $30,000 hung off of that guy's wrist!" I'm not sure anybody else noticed. I went out and took a few discreet pictures with my RD-1. See attachment. There are more expensive cameras out there, at least in Manhattan.

This conversation reminds me though, I have to fax a copy of my receipt to my insurance agent tomorrow!

Regards,

Larry
