Gentleman Villain Posted May 17, 2009 Share #41 Posted May 17, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have two rolls of Astia drying at the moment. There's nothing like seeing a roll of negatives come off the reel, and there's NOTHING like seeing two rolls of slides come off Hi Andy...not to hijack this thread. But what's the best way to deal with AStia at this time? I used to run a jobo processor for e6 at a commercial studio in the 90s...Haven't shot anything but digital since 1999 and am really wanting to switch back to Astia. I need to come up with a method of dealing with Astia that could handle the workflow of a studio....still not sure what to do yet and am trying to get all the opinions that I can
Advertisement Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Hi Gentleman Villain, Take a look here surprised by film, after years of digital. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted May 17, 2009 Share #42 Posted May 17, 2009 I don't know! If you are looking to do commercial quantities, you need something more sophisticated than a Jobo For me, doing a couple of rolls at a time, it's an interesting diversion for a couple of hours, but I wouldn't want to do it all day every day. I use the Tetenal 3 bath chemistry, bought in the one litre packs, as it goes off pretty quickly once the bottles are opened. If I have a lot to do (after a holiday, for example) I take it to a commercial processor.
Gentleman Villain Posted May 17, 2009 Share #43 Posted May 17, 2009 Thanks Andy...maybe what I mean by workflow is that the processing has to be more consistent than a lab. If I were to switch to film then I'd have to do all the processing in-house and couldn't trust a lab. Are there any other processing solutions besides Jobo? Geez...I don't think they even make the studio sized Jobo processors anymore

Gentleman Villain Posted May 20, 2009 Share #45 Posted May 20, 2009 Phototherm processor. Thanks...that sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Do you have any experience using them or know of any good online resources for research? Thanks very much!
Ted Lemon Posted May 20, 2009 Share #46 Posted May 20, 2009 Doc so right - M8 = speed/ease of processing M7/6/MP = wonderful usage experience with great films around. I have got incredbile results (when I get the exposure right!) with M7 plus Veliva 100 and Provia 160.

jmdco Posted June 1, 2009 Share #48 Posted June 1, 2009 Everything is there, the film is a living material, with all the happiness (or unhappiness) that this may include. And your photos are "live" NUGAT Jean-Marc My website My blog
