corkscrew Posted May 11, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I have the D-Lux 4 and absolutely love it - what a great camera and I now always carry it with me. My question relates to using the D-Lux 4 with flash - I cannot see anywhere what the sync speed of the flash is and whether it has the capability of high speed sync. My intention would be to use the flash unit/s wirelessly via Pocket Wizards. Any help/guidance is much appreciated. Thanks
Advertisement Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Hi corkscrew, Take a look here D-Lux 4 flash query. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Nuno Cruces Posted May 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 11, 2009 Since the D-Lux has an electronic shutter, the sync speed is the same as the shutter speed (1/2000"). That's why it's not mentioned much. I haven't tested with fast moving subjects though. You can see some samples of what you can do here: Laurence Kim Photography Blog
corkscrew Posted May 11, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted May 11, 2009 Thank you Nuno - that is exactly what I was hoping for! I checked the link out and it confirms that I can turn day into night which is what I wanted to be able to do. The camera gets better by the day :-)
USA road racer Posted May 12, 2009 Share #4 Posted May 12, 2009 I use the built in flash to do fill flash and works great if you stay with in the flash guide lines. Then you'll have to get an external flash for longer footages. I'm using a Metz right now. No true TTL but the built in flash doesn't seem to work real well as my Nikon does.
