Jamie Roberts Posted March 4, 2008 Share #61 Posted March 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is the full frame. It is certainly not unusable like the previous firmware versions and 1600iso. BTW, I think it is better than Canon's first two professional SLRs at 1600iso. It is probably better than the Nikon D2x-D2H series at that iso too, but I haven't shot any to compare. http://www.robsteve.com/LUF/L1230213-3.jpg Robert, I did enough work with the 1d2 to say it's better than the first 3 Canon pro digicams, at least The detail at high ISO in those shots is still pretty impressive with the latest firmware... even if they've apparently made some tradeoffs in terms of detail and noise, too, right? It's true the 1d2 was also very good at 1600, but with exactly the same reliance on proper exposure (not much to forgive there) as the DMR. Anyway, this seems to be such an improvement on the original firmware it's quite eye-opening. Thanks for posting these!

It is the other way around at lower ISO.

It is indeed impressive what can be achieved with HW which is some 7 years old in design and conception. So I wonder how this could sum up with the R10 having latest HW and all the FW experience in mind
