lesh Posted April 29, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm slightly puzzled by the fact that there seems to be only 2 Noise Profiles for the LC1 available for download from the NN website. (The titles of each file seems to suggest that both were built for shots taken under Tungsten Lighting.) That compares with as many as 15 profiles available for the D-Lux 3. ............of course I know that you can build your own profiles but........has anyone else noticed this? Incidentally the latest version of NN incorporates a new feature called 'Sidekick' which apparently allows auotomatic batch processing, on a round trip from/to Lightroom. Haven't yet tested this but if it's truly 'hands free', it sounds appealing.

lesh Posted April 29, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted April 29, 2009 John, Thanks for your comments - will read the article from your Journal shortly. Pondering the issue overnight I'd already decided to create my own profiles and with that done, will now watch for hopefully improved results. Thks Les
John Thawley Posted April 29, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 29, 2009 John, Thanks for your comments - will read the article from your Journal shortly. I will tell you that my personal preference as been to run the correct profile then from the default settings for that profile, I back out the sharpness a bit. I find the sharpening is usually the culprit that leaves fingerprints... if you know what I mean. The bonus to creating your own profiles is any image you bring into Noise Ninja automatically defaults to the correct profile based on the EXIF data. Good luck.
