pc plug for Leica G. what sort?

The IIIg like the IIIf/IIf/If used perfectly normal p/c ("Prontor-Compur") flash connections of the type still used. The M3, M2 and M2 derivatives (M1 and MD) had slightly larger, nonstandard plugs. Ernst Leitz claimed that they were better, and they were--a quarter turn of the plug locked it in place. But in a market where lots of independent manufacturers made generic electronic flash units, and Leitz did not, being nonstandard was slow death. Few independent suppliers were willing to accommodate Leica M cameras. So with the M4 and following models, Leitz recanted and went back to the ubiquitous p/c plug contact.

Adapter plugs were long available on the market, but I think they are gone now. I might add that though I use specs with non-mineral lenses, flash connections have never scratched them. But M camera eyepieces on models before the M6 (which introduced rubber-rimmed eyepieces) have been devastating to my eyeglasses. My M4-P wears a M6 eyepiece.
