Ted Lemon Posted April 29, 2009 Share #21 Posted April 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve - going back on the scanning film issue - they cannot - repeat cannot refuse you a hand scan of any film item at LHR. They get a trifle pis*ed off at doing it especially at busy times and may tell you to wait unilt a person becomes free - its a simple swab and scope test on the cannister. They do sometimes say 'hey but this is 50 asa speed film and this scanner will not affect it' then I say well this film is going to be potential scanned 6 times by people not as nice as you so please do me a favour here - and they do. stunsworth Posted April 29, 2009 Share #22 Posted April 29, 2009 Steve - going back on the scanning film issue - they cannot - repeat cannot refuse you a hand scan of any film item at LHR I believe that's the case in the States but not in the UK - as far as I'm aware there's no right to have a handscan - though I'd love to be proved wrong. I've been unable to get film handscanned in the UK - at Manchester, not Heathrow - for several years - despite asking politely. Same in Paris at CDG.
