St Ives D-Lux4

This is a request for help/advice. I have just bought the D-Lux4 prior to a visit to Cornwall. When I visited St Ives, last year, I wasn't able to capture the magic of the special light there. What advice could anybody give me.

Wake up very early, mind the hours in the middle and shoot until the sun is gone.....

 

Here you'll find pics from Rainer Martini, a buddy from the Nikon forum in Germany. One of Germany's best sport photographer from the 70s up to now:

Don't let your camera decide what should be the right exposure.....

A tripod would be helpful.....

These were taken last week in St Ives using my D-Lux 4. Not the most perfect light but the most perfect place.
