Advertisement Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Hi PhilG, Take a look here D-Lux 4 Viewfinder. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jimbo035 Posted April 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2009 Old ground it is, mate. Q : why is it so expensive ? A : because its the official Leica one, I suppose. The Panasonic equivalent , intended for the LX3 - "part number" DMW-VF1 for around £173 if you shop around. Then there are the Voigtlander alternatives, intended for use with 25mm and 21mm lenses respectively (some prefer the latter) which cost more than the DMW-VF1 but less than the Leica VF. Or ... but I'll let someone else add their recommendation/s
PhilG Posted April 16, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted April 16, 2009 Many thanks I see there has been lots of posts re. this historically. Still a bit confused any recommendations and where to order would be much appreciated
jimbo035 Posted April 16, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2009 your public profile reveals that you live in the UK... - so now nobody should direct you to a "foreign" retailer :-) As I have not bought a viewfinder yet, cannot really make a recommendation. Just wait a while for other D-Lux 4 users who have, to come along.
marooned Posted April 16, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 16, 2009 Voigtlander finders are hard to find in the UK, you may need to import one from the continent. The cheapest price I have been able to find on the Leica finder is £199 delivered... yikes.
simon_hughes Posted April 16, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 16, 2009 Phil, I use the Voitlander 21mm and find it perfect, and a damn sight cheaper then the alternatives.
