Hey,

Did anybody ever place an order to these guys? they seem nice by email, but I wouldn't want any chance of dealing with someone not really trustworthy. I'm asking because they have some stuff which is really cheaper than other dealers (2nd hand) that I'm interested in.

The item is listed as Mint, so any chance someone can tell me about how they rate stuff? are they conservative?

thnks

Been around a long time, I've bought one lens from them, second hand, probably 7-8 years ago. Very conservative ratings from my experience, mint=mint

I bought from them before and they are the first place I look to for Leica gear. Sam Shoshin is the owner and has treated me with great respect and dependable service. A+ in my opion.

I had a negative experience with him over a faulty M6 when he first started out on his own. It was many years ago and he may have changed his attitude but once bitten twice shy. Just make sure you understand his return policy and the amount of time it would take to get a refund if you need to return the equipment.

FYI...Sam Shoshan was Stan Tamarkin's opening store manager in NY, then eventually went on his own. I will probably buy some things in the next few weeks from him...so far, he's been a pleasure to deal with by phone and email...but I don't have prior experience with him.

I did a search of other forums and all seemed to rate him highly. The same folks who liked him generally spoke well of Jim Kuehl (no longer in the business), whom I did use with great success.

Sam took good care of me with a pre-APO 90mm Summicron. The lens was in mint condition. He took time with me on the phone and is the only other Leica dealer besides David Farkas to do so. Good guys. Those are the kind of people I want to keep doing business with for future purchases.
