j.j.l. Posted April 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 15, 2009 Hi, I'm new to the Leica digital cameras. Will this event provide opportunities to really learn about and play with the different features of the camera?
veraikon Posted April 15, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 15, 2009 "Highlights of this tour include the sensational train ride on the world's most spectacular railroad from Qinghai to Tibet" nice tour ,) Will this event provide opportunities to really learn about and play with the different features of the camera Normally (at least in Europe) a rent of Leica equipment (of your own desire) from Leica Academy is included in the tour package. But ask yst or Leica for details.

yst Posted April 16, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted April 16, 2009 Hi, I'm new to the Leica digital cameras. Will this event provide opportunities to really learn about and play with the different features of the camera? Greetings, Yes, Mr. Brian Bell from Leica Camara Inc. will have some very interesting equipment for the tour, e.g. the S2 & the M system etc. You'll have chance and have fun for those new gears. Myself will be very interested in trying that new 50mm/f0.95 lens during the expedition.
Shuttrbug Posted April 16, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 16, 2009 This sounds like a great trip, but I was wondering if you could provide me with some more information. I have never been to China and so am not familiar with the paperwork involved. Do I need to start applying for a visa if I want to go? And I've been told there is some kind of special permit necessary for visiting Tibet. Is this true? If so, where do I apply for one? Any information would be greatly appreciated as it would help me better evaluate whether the trip would be feasible for me or not. Thanks!

Thanks! Greetings, You may apply for a China tourist visa from embassy or consulate office near where you live, or through authorized travel agents, it is easily done. For a "Tibet Autonomous Region entry permit", (after you have obtained a China visit visa), that application must be done in China applied for the participants through the tour organizer, and that exercise can only be done through designated agency in few large centres inside China. In this case, I will arrange the Tibet entry permit for all of our participants long before the departure of our special tour for sure, no problem. You are welcome to contact me in person through email or phone for your questions.
