Angelvs Posted April 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, My name is Rafael and i'm a owner of a very old Laica camera, and i cannot find any info about this cam, like assessories or manuals, i just have something like a serial number Nº 173 861, and i guess it's Germany made. I know that's little information, but any hint will be useful. Anyways, thanks for help. Rafael.

bschererwi Posted April 5, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2009 It may be a Leica. Try this http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.de/index.php/Seriennummern_Leica_Kameras and the search function of this forum. Regards Bernhard

Angelvs Posted April 5, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted April 5, 2009 bschererwi, thanks, the model Leica III is very similar to my cam, instead the serial numbers don't match. Mine:173861 Leica III: 173826. And i noticed another diference: My lens is a Ernst Leitz Wetzlar, Summitar f= 5cm, 1:2 Nr. 913614. I guess if this lens was brought after the cam. Anohter question: What is the role of the button near the lens? ( T, 1,2,4, 8, 20? It adjusts the time of obturator? Well, my english isn't very good, so, sorry for any weird word! Sopwith Posted April 5, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 5, 2009 Hi: Way back I had a Leica IIIc. What I remember best was how fine a little camera it was. I had a 50mm collapsible Summicron on it and it was very compact. Picture quality, at least in B&W, was excellent even by todays standards. I've always been sorry I sold it. Today I have a D-Lux 4 and love it. Sopwith
