The Leica Pocket Book 7th Edition is a very useful and practical source of information but is in need of updating with data covering all new cameras and lenses made since c. 2000. Another pocket type guide covering just models current in 2000 plus all later models would probably be a very good seller ... could even call it 21st C. Leica Pocket Guide.

Comments appreciated.

I think one of the authors Erwin Puts has had a major conflict with the publishers due to non payment of royalty and other questionable practices so I do not expect anything new for a while, although it would have been nice.

I deliberately did not mention the name of any publisher ... because if for predominantly recent cameras and lenses ie all "new ground" items there is no reason why a different publisher could not take on the task ... especially if the book title is a 'little different'. There is a good opportunity there for someone if all the data including MTF charts is made available.

The 7th Edition Pocket Book is not good enough by itself with all that has transpired since it was last revised. Eight (maybe nine?) years is a VERY long period in Leica development time(s).

Cheers
