doubice Posted April 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 3, 2009 Any ideas, how I use this Series VIII adapter ring? Can't seem to figure it out. Thanks you in advance:) Welcome to the forum! Simple instructions follow: 1) Buy a Series VIII filter 2) Unscrew the Series VIII adapter ring 3) Lay the Series VIII filter into the space vacated by the adapter ring 4) Screw the adapter ring into its original resting place, over the filter, thus tightening it in place 5) Mount the beast on a Visoflex II or III 6) Attach the combination to the Leica M of your choice 7) Enjoy! ncc1701 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted April 3, 2009 I am trying to figure out where the adapter ring screws onto? Between the head? Maybe, part 14169 is not for the tely 280? Thanks
doubice Posted April 4, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 4, 2009 The adapter screws into the front of the lens, just like a filter would. Series type filters have no thread and are held in place by a threaded adapter - in your case the 14169. To ascertain that we are talking about the same lens - only the latest, generation III 280mm Telyt took Series VIII filters. Are you sure that this is the lens you have? Generation I and II took 58mm (IIRC) - those lenses can be identified by having a thread mount and needing an OUBIO (16466) adapter to be mounted on a Visoflex II or III. Now - which lens do you have? Best, Jan
