I am new to the forum and this is my first post:

I appreciate the insightful postings on this site and was wondering what the consensus is between the Leica Viewfinder and the Leica flash for the D-Lux 4.

Does anyone find them essential or are they expensive gadgets that one works around without any difficulty.

Thanks.

i too am new to this forum and to the D-Lux 4. very happy so far with the pictures. for me, i am happy to go with few accessories. i wanted this camera as a compact, easy to carry option rather than my olympus E-3 and flash and lenses etc. i think the built in flash will do the job for me. the viewfinder makes the camera too big to fit into the beautiful leica case, so i will not buy it. i also suspect i won't buy a polarizer because i will need an adapter ring as well. too much stuff to carry. i went with the viewfinder- with this sensor and lens my flash needs are minimal
