However I have read that they keep manufacturing records internally, also if you live in the US you can call Leica NJ and provide the serial nr. and they will tell you when the camera was made. I've no idea whether it's true or not but I do know that Leica use serial nrs. in batches so the nr. doesn't mean that much any more. Yours is fairly recent that's for sure.
