Guest Sjoske Posted April 13, 2009 Share #43 Posted April 13, 2009 Hello, Yesterday I did the upgrade on my D-Lux 4 camera. It seems to work fine, camera is operating normal, but this upgrade left me with a question; After the upgrade (which went smoothly and very fast) I've got a message that there was a READ ERROR on the card (!), instead of getting the message "NO VALID PICTURE TO PLAY". I did format the SD card (an older one) in the camera before putting the firmware on it via a card reader on my PC. Does someone got the same experience? Should everything be allright now? Looking at the version it tells me: Ver. 1.2, and it all looks fine. Thanks in advance.

Yes I had the same message, and I think it is because the camera turned automatically after the update on "review mode" and that there is NO PICTURE on the SD ... this is why we get the message error. Was frightened when I see first the error message cause I believed there was a problem with the update, but no. Everything just went perfect.
redrob1942 Posted August 18, 2009 Share #45 Posted August 18, 2009 Hi Like many others I am also have great difficulties with this. I have followed the instructions but it just won't work. Having dragged the update to my SD card( Sandisk extreme 111 4gb) and it looks like this DCIM DLX4_120.bin MISC as shown in a previous posting on this forum. When I then put the SD card back into my camera, it just says there is nothing to display as it would if there were no pictures on the card. So I am not give the message asking if I want to update the firmware. I have tried it many times with the same result every time. Has anyone any ideas what I can do next
redrob1942 Posted August 18, 2009 Share #46 Posted August 18, 2009 H Just realised what I was doing wrong. Having downloaded the firm ware update 1.2 it showed as DLX4_120.bin. I thought this was a zip file and double clicked it on my mac desktop. This then produced DLX4_120.bin.cpgz which is the file I wrongly put onto my SD card. Now that I have put the originalDLX4_120.bin file on the sd card without double clicking it. Put in in the camera and it worked perfectly taking about 5 seconds only. Checked version which is now 1.2. Reformatted the card. And it works fine. Thanks for the help. Great camera
hjfischer Posted August 19, 2009 Share #47 Posted August 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Be sure that your battery is fully charged before updating, if not using mains. My battery showed partial discharge and the update did not take until I changed to a fully charged one.
