Jamie Roberts Posted October 28, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sean, thanks for the great the review of the M8, especially part 2. Absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait to get my hands on one! One question though, that I'm not sure got answered... When you do your high ISO tests, how much are you pushing the exposure, as LL says, "to the right"? How much headroom is there in this camera in terms of exposure latitude, compared with, say, the DMR or the 5d? It looked like your comparisons were all careful studio exposures. But did you ever get aggressive with exposure (which will give you the best noise characteristics too, since you're pushing shadows into the midtones where they are sampled more effectively)? Thanks for anything you can share on this!
Advertisement Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Hi Jamie Roberts, Take a look here SR: exposure latitude and M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sean_reid Posted October 28, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 28, 2006 Hi Jamie, The question of "headroom" which ties into DR, is something I'm going to get into in Part 3. I don't want to make any off-the-cuff comments before I've had a chance to do some careful testing. Cheers, Sean
