jc_braconi Posted March 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Leica Ig, OCEGO, introduced in 1957 in the same time that the IIIg , at camera number 887001 and ceased at number 987525. Basically a IIIg but without a build-in viewfinder or rangefinder. No delayed action as the camera was primarily intended for scientific or Visoflex use. The camera top plate is supplied with two accessories shoes for attaching a separate viewfinder and range finder. This model was the first to have the manufacturer name engraved on the camera front. The shutter speed from 1 sec. to 1/30 are mounted on the camera front, B, 1/30 to 1/1000 on the top. Illustrated here : A 1957 issued model with collapsible Summicron 2/50 lens, SOOIC, UVa filter and ITOOY sun shade, SBOOI reflecting viewfinder, last model 50mm engraved and black painted rear ring, FOKOS chromium plated, range finder, Leicameter 3 with booster cell and leather cases for both ESOOG, leather ever ready case, Catalogs from 1958, German and French printed, showing the Ig camera model.
