Advertisement Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Hi usccharles, Take a look here Price on Used M 50lux ASPH?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tgray Posted March 18, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 18, 2009 When I was looking a couple months ago I thought $2300 was an ok price. I was hoping to find one for cheaper and saw some go for that. Up until the 15% thing was running in the UK a month or so ago (and the exchange rate was good), you could get a new one for a bit more than $1900. Now they are around $2600 new from the UK. So I'd think if it's in great shape, $2100-2300 would be a decent price...
adan Posted March 18, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 18, 2009 Generally the 50 ASPH runs about $200 more than the 75 ASPH, and most 75 ASPHs I've seen are around $2500 used. So figure the retail (what the dealer could likely sell it for) to be around $2700, and the trade value to be some fraction of that (60% from my dealer). OTOH most of the 75 ASPHs I've seen have been sitting around at $2500 and not selling, so the economy may take a whack at that estimate.
Riccis Posted March 18, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 18, 2009 Don't they still have a $300 rebate? If so, the price for a brand new one is $3,300...
Philippe D. Posted March 18, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 18, 2009 Don't they still have a $300 rebate? If so, the price for a brand new one is $3,300... You could have it brand new until end of March for $2035 + shipping from ffordes.com GB. (£1999 -15% VAT for export to USA, -15% Cashback offer). I don't know if this offer will be further extended again.

I don't know if this offer will be further extended again. If Ffordes prices are VAT inclusive 15/115% = 13.04% VAT rebate ... and would the 15% cash-back apply if it is being exported ? If it does and no VAT had been paid in this country the % cash-back rebate might not be 15% ? Cheers dunk

Philippe D. Posted March 18, 2009 Share #10 Posted March 18, 2009 Hi, If it does and no VAT had been paid in this country the % cash-back rebate might not be 15% ? As from an answer from ffordes, the Summilux price is £1700.50 + shipping and "... for foreign customers we are deducting the 15% cash back immediately" ! Only one problem, the Summilux 50A is sold out and Solms is concentrating on new Summilux 21, 24mm production. Cheers

Philippe D. Posted March 18, 2009 Share #12 Posted March 18, 2009 The figures do not reconcile ... The price i mention was for European Union. So no VAT deducted, only cash back. For other countries VAT will be deducted.
xjr Posted March 18, 2009 Share #13 Posted March 18, 2009 Robert White in UK has 4 available at £1850-00 EXCLUDING vat. Since the UK £ is competing with cabbages for value it would appear to be a great time to buy using $..as was the case a few years back but reversed....when I got my MP from the New York ! abrewer Posted March 19, 2009 Share #14 Posted March 19, 2009 We had a thread couple months ago on this very same topic If memory serves most people were saying $2500 on a used 50 Lux ASPH You won't get that from the dealer though...maybe $2000 in trade toward another lens at full retail
