Has anybody actually used the Panasonic 18mm w/a lens on a DLux4 ? In particular using it in interiors - anything rather than another summer of lugging the NikonD3 and 14-24 combo around shooting villa interiors. I really love my DLux - only had it a few days. After years of shooting with large and medium format and now the huge 35mm systems handling this little thing is like holding a week old kitten - I'm scared I'm going to break it !

Welcome to the forum!

You might check out a thread I posted earlier on using the wide-angle conversion lens, http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/76883-d-lux-4-wa-conversion-lens.html.

The first set of examples there will be of more importance to you, because I processed the images in ACR. The WA conversion lens produces a noticeable increase of distortion and chromatic aberration. I find it tolerable for general shooting, but it may be excessive for what you want.

The second set of examples there was processed with a now obsolete version of Capture One which--in contrast to the Adobe products--does not correct the distortion and CA of the file at all. The increased barrel distortion and extended field of view can be useful for some pictorial effects. More information on this at: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/76810-d-lux-4-conversions.html.

I hope that helps get you started on the topic!

Howard - thanks for the welcome ! Most of the interiors will be for the internet - nothing printed - so I think I'll give it a go. The CA does not look too bad on your examples and its pretty easy to get rid of anyway.
