I posted this on another thread, then realized that it should have its own thread as there are probably others seeking a case for the D-Lux 4 with finder and hand grip attached.

I found this one at Calumet Photo. It cost a whole $17.95. It had a "Calumet" label on the front which I cut off. The camera slides in easily and there is ample room for the neck strap. It comes with both a carrying strap and has a belt attachment. As you can see there is plenty of padding. The pocket on the front holds extra memory cards and a battery.

Bill,

I have a new D-lux 4 and was looking for a case. I have the neckstrap on the camera so it won't fit in the Leica case. After seeing your's, I went to the local camera store and found a Tamrac case that appears to be identical. Even though I don't have an optical VF yet, it works great. I like the front compartment that holds a spare battery and media card.

I didn't life the strap that came with it so I replaced it with a spare Domke "Gripper" strap.

Thanks for your find.

Paul

I use the LowePro "Apex 60 AW" to hold my D-Lux 4/grip/SBOOI combination. The case also holds a spare battery and card. I am now looking for something that can hold the camera with the Pandabase 52mm adaptor tube attached!

Regards,

Bill

I picked up a Tamrac Adventure Video 2 bag inside is 6w by 3d by 3 -3/4h theres room for the camera long way with viewfinder and grip and a divider that is adjustable so theres room for the flash if it ever shows up in the store by me. Pluss lots of zippered pockets so I have the cables, spare battery and charger all in the bag. Looks like a mini sized slr bag.

Cheers Jan

Paul--

Do you have a model number for the Tamrac case you found? I'm getting a headache looking for it among the pictures on their website.

I'm looking for a belt case a bit more compact than my Zing pouch (older purchase, possibly the same as their current "Medium Electronics Bag," MPEBK1, (MPEBK1) MED ELTRN BAG/BLK - Tiffen.Com).

--Thanks!

Targus belt case, very compact, no padding; great for the camera but won't hold finder or grip. (Haven't seen it on shelves recently.)

I first got a Tamrac Digital 4 number 5694 inside is 4w x 2-1/4d x 6-1/4h outside is 4-1/2 x 4d x 7h it hold the camera with grip and viewfinder and room for cards and charger but tad to small for the cables and if you get the flash might be to small. You could wrap the flash and put it on the bottom and the camera on top.

Bill - did you ever identify a suitable case to accommodate the configuration you describe above ?

I'm looking for something similar and have yet to find an acceptable solution in my local stores, nor have I found a good recommendation elsewhere here on LUF.

Price has risen to $17.99 :D Thanks for the tip, Bill. I just bought a wrist strap for my dlux + grip and was looking for a slightly larger bag than my Kata belt pouch (got for $15). I found lots of alternatives, but none this inexpensive. And, I like the flap top better than zipper options (as with the Lowepro 60, which I considered).

From the pics and the Calumet listed dimensions, I wonder if this would hold an M8.2 and medium sized lens (say, 50 lux) in a pinch...just for some protection between day shoots or during inclement weather. M8 plus 35 cron-sized lens appears feasible. Any idea?

I have the LeicaTime one - as much as I love the look & smell of leather, it is a PIA to keep on taking out to d/load pics or change battery etc.

Also I find that with the LT case it does not sit flat, so again I have to take out to take timer pics..

Now I am trying to justify keeping it!

Darn..
