Are Digilux 2 and P'sonic LC-1 RAW files identical ?

I'm still using iPhoto '06 which apparently supports the LC-1. Has anybody in a similar timewarp :D found that it "accepts" RAW files from a Digilux 2 ?

NB

Capture One 4.1.3 also installed on the same Mac Mini ( 1.33GHz PPC...OSX 10.4.11)

I am sure they are. The cameras have cosmetic differences.

Some claim the software is different. I don't believe it is.

The jpegs are definitely different.

Apple's handling of the RAW file "might" be different. But the actual "file" should be the same. Or so the Germans would have us believe. :)

Can't speak for D2 files, but assuming the LC1 RAW files are the same you will be OK.

I just confirmed with an LC1 file on my copy of iPhoto 06 - which probably hasn't been opened since 06. (Once you have Lightroom you'll never go back.)

I have IPhoto '06 on my MacBook Black as well as an LC1 and D2, and I can confirm it opens the RAW files for both (and does a fairly decent job of the conversion, too.)

My apologies... I didn't mean to make light of the conversion and didn't realize a decision was pending knowing the answer.

Of course iPhoto will open both. 06 or otherwise. FYI, I don't think the cost of an upgrade is all that much for iLife.

That said, you should also know that Apple builds it's RAW converter into the OS ... not into individual applications. Hence, it makes no difference if you're using Aperture, iLife or whatever, if your operating system is up-to-date you'll always have Apple's latest converter.
