ail Posted March 3, 2009 Author Share #22 Posted March 3, 2009 I hope so, but when I spoke to Ms Harberts at a show she was not clear on this point. It is expected that the new R 10 will employ electronic coupling between the camera body and lenses, in the manner pioneered by the EOS system; the S2 uses this system too. It is not all clear to me how the electronic interface of the R10 body will couple to the mechanical linkages of the existing R lenses. Perhaps an electro-mechanical adapter will be needed? Ail - At Photokina Dr. Kaufmann said the R10 was coming, it would be autofocus with new lenses and would be backward compatible with current R lenses. I take that to mean, auot diaphram & coupled metering. We can infer by looking at the size and style of the S2 that the R10 will continue much of the look of the R8/R9 and be smaller than the R9/DMR. peter_n Posted March 4, 2009 Share #24 Posted March 4, 2009 Deutsche Post is on my label, that's for sure, as well as DHL. Thank you for bringing me up to date! The bottom line for us here in the U.S. is to make sure that sellers we buy from in Europe send us the equipment by their mail system, rather than a private shipping company like UPS. SH photo also uses UPS, hence my post.
