cboudier Posted October 31, 2006 Author Share #4  Posted October 31, 2006 You might ;-)  Pentax K100D + 21mm f/3.2 limited + 77mm f/1.8 limited  I made a lot of statistics on my photos and discovered that I almost use the LC1 at both ends of the zoom only ( 28 & 90mm) Same with my previous DSLR (Canon 300D + 24-70 + 70-200) : most of my photos was shoot at 24 or 70, some at 200mm.  The Pentax has a good capability in low light with its "Shake Reduction" system, and all Pentax lenses (yes, all, even the very very old) fit on it. My 2 complains are : - shutter noise (the LC1 is totally silent) - no EVF (I like the live histogram !)

kamilsukun Posted November 1, 2006 Share #7 Â Posted November 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Christoph, Â Well... Â Mmmm? Â I have both cameras. A Digilux 2 and the DS. (K100 is the re-badged DS2 and DS2 is the re-LCDed DS.) Â Pentax may give you more optical photography compared to D2's pictorial output. You may also enjoy the optical viewfinder and faster raw shooting. If you intend to use old Super Multi Coated Takumars you may also benefit the fine Asahi optics which were once competing with Zeiss. And one more thing, Pentax RAWs are very tolerant to be manipulated towards your desired results. Â However, if there was a question of trading D2 off for Pentax, I would hesitate. Â You may miss the D2's poetic interpretations. Â So, my humble vote is NO. Â Regards, Kamil Sukun
cboudier Posted March 9, 2007 Author Share #8 Â Posted March 9, 2007 You may miss the D2's poetic interpretations. Â I do... but what I miss most are people from the Leica User Forum ! The "Leica World" is a really particular community
audidudi Posted March 9, 2007 Share #9  Posted March 9, 2007 Pentax K100D + 21mm f/3.2 limited + 77mm f/1.8 limited  The fact that you are replacing your LC1 with a Pentax K100D doesn't necessarily make it a "replacement" for the LC1. Semantics, I know, but there are some real, fundamental differences between the two cameras and latter is definitely not a replacement for the former. cboudier Posted March 9, 2007 Author Share #10  Posted March 9, 2007 ... there are some real, fundamental differences between the two cameras and latter is definitely not a replacement for the former.  The Oxford dictionary says the action or process of replacing someone or something : the replacement of religion by poetry | a hip replacement. • a person or thing that takes the place of another.  And the Thesaurus says 1 we have to find a replacement successor; substitute, stand-in, locum, relief, cover. 2 the wiring was in need of replacement renewal, replacing.  According these definitions, replacement does not mean replacing with something close to... --> I replaced a camera by an other  Anyway, bridge camera have something special that you simply miss with SLR. Guest stnami Posted March 10, 2007 Share #11  Posted March 10, 2007 Yea I bought one of those Pentax K100D + 21mm limited + 43mm limited, a fantastic small cam up to1600iso, but I did keep my D2, it's battered, takes great shots in certain situations so it stays  Semantics, I know, but there are some real, fundamental differences between the two cameras and latter is definitely not a replacement for the former.... wierd!!!!! marknorton Posted March 10, 2007 Share #16 Â Posted March 10, 2007 I can't understand this aversion to ebay. It will be available to the widest possible base of potential customers who, by definition, will bid market price. If that's less than you would like, perhaps you are being unrealistic. J Mitchum Posted March 10, 2007 Share #18 Â Posted March 10, 2007 I know but eBay is also also a breeding ground for scammers. Plenty of people who would buy it using PayPal and then do a chargeback months later for example. I was hoping there was a sales forum somwhere that specialized in Leica. I'd rather see it go to someone who will appreciate it though maybe that makes more sense in terms of a D2 or LC1. Yes, I know I'm going to take a loss on it.
