kenneth Posted March 1, 2009 Share #21 Posted March 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) In one of the Customer Forum threads, Michael had the following to say... Now it's time to have some fun with this thread. How many people actually hide camera's and lenses from their partners ? I'm guilty of this, having just sneaked in a 50mm Summicron for my M8 Time to be honest, have you done this yet? Andreas Slightly off topic but on the same theme. When CD's were first introduced a friend of mine commented on how wonderful they were. This had nothing to do with the sound. It had to do with the ease of bringing them home unseen by his wife. Something that was very difficult to do with the size of LP records and yes I have, I do and I will continue to do, in answer to the original question

jrc Posted March 1, 2009 Share #26 Posted March 1, 2009 My wife passed away some time ago, but in the 40 years we were together, she really never knew the difference between a Leica Noctilux and a glass ash tray -- just wasn't interested. Not that she was stupid (she had a PhD in immunology), but some people, you know, are different; I once suggested she might like a Boxter S, after she enjoyed riding in a friend's, but she said 'No,' she'd stick with her Honda Prelude... johnastovall Posted March 1, 2009 Share #27 Posted March 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was carrying a IIIG the first time I ever met my late wife. She loved Leicas and said the were the perfect union of form, function and design but she never used them. She was a painter. I never had to explain getting Leicas to her. To her they were beautiful things like a Bauhaus Chair or Philip Johnson building.
